EVENING or DAY CLASSES
Introduction to Homeopathy
10 weeks starting January, April and September Wednesdays 10 am-12 noon Thursdays 7.30-9.30 pm £6 per class
While homeopathy is not suitable for self-prescribing in chronic or serious illness, there is great scope for the home prescriber to achieve satisfying results in a wide variety of common complaints. The 10-week course has been running for several years now, and covers the basic principles on which the application of homeopathy is based, as well as discussion and consideration of the notions of health, disease and cure from a holistic viewpoint. We also study the symptom "pictures" of up to thirty-six remedies, and students can buy remedy kits at a discounted price, so that they are ready to put what they have learned into practice when the opportunity arises!
As well as looking at individual remedies, we also study the remedies in groups related to particular conditions, such as
- accidents and shock
- bruises and wounds
- burns
- bites and stings
- sprains and strains
- childhood illness
- coughs, colds and sore throats
- fevers
- earaches
- digestive disorders
...and much more, depending on the interests of the group. To prescribe successfully, students also need to learn how to "take a case" and how to use the information gathered to guide them to the choice of remedy. Classes are usually in small groups of 6 to 10 students. They are informal, lively and stimulating, and many of the participants have been so inspired that they have gone on to study professionally on accredited courses. "I was using homeopathy at home sparingly and was keen to find out a little more. I started the course and thoroughly enjoyed it and was constantly amazed at the results. My confidence and understanding of homeopathy has grown enormously and I now plan to study to become a homeopath." Simone McCallum
